Secondary Objectives

Facilitate education-related enrichment academic support as well as outreach programmes for our target group.

There are currently about 7.5 million orphans in the Republic of South Africa which about half are HIV/AIDS orphans. Africa Care Foundation empowers communities to care for their vulnerable children by providing the knowledge skills, and self- confidence needed to ensure the well-being.

We are rendering services to the most disadvantaged and vulnerable members of the community of South & North Coast, Durban Central and surrounding areas. The services we render are Community Youth Development, Counselling on Covid-19, Gender Based Violence, Home Based Care, Fight Against Xenophobia, HIV&AIDS Counselling, School Educational Guidance, Sports and Recreation, Arts and Culure, Feeding Scheme for OVC, Food Parcel and soup Kitchen for elderly people

Board & Trustees

The Africa Care Foundation is governed by an eight member board of trustees, comprised of the followings individuals.

Dr NJ Dlamini

Hon Dr Nqe Jacob Dlamini

Currently the managing director of StraAct, formerly NKB Projects:Research and Development planning for local economic development (LED) programs, as well as LED evaluations, promotion of social enterprises and in particular shared services institutions amongst smallholder farmers and mainstreaming of savings groups in the basket of smallholder support programmes and promotion of pro-poor financial education SMME and cooperatives training and mentorship. Project facilitation in social and economic infrastructure projects, viz, water services, rural housing and agriculture provision program support services to non governmental organisations.

  Thandeka Zulu

Hon Thandeka Zulu

Officer of Niya Consulting and UBI Global Country Ambassador currently a Condultay in skills development, monitoring and evaluation. She facilitates start-ups and incubation with business skills, access to market and it's value chain. She has a degree in Bachelor of Commerce major in Marketing and Development Economics with University of KwaZulu Natal and a non-profit strategy certificate with University of Philantropy (Haas School of Business, University of California, Barkley). She has managed and implemented programmes in education where looking at whole school development in primary schools. She has managed and implemented various business skills development programme in retail and supply chain. She bridges the gap between school-leavers and the world of work. She has also worked with different stakeholders from NGO's, Business and Government sector.

Dr Bode Ojubelee

Hon Dr Hammed Olabode

Currently the team leader. Research and Stakeholder engagement of regional and local economic development initiative, GSBL, University of Kwa-Zulu Natal. Mentoring junior researchers, brokering and maintaing strategic collaboration to advance the mandateof the RLEDI unit. Designing and running regular LED training and short courses for practitioners, identifying and addressing capacity gap among LED practitioners within the province. Business advisory SMME's and start-ups. Supporting the business school research initiative, supervision of LED Masters dissertation students, evaluating and designing interventions to help projects accross KZN.

Ms Nokuthula Nyembe

Hon Ms Nokuthula Nyembe

Currently the founder and director of Instika Entle Holdings. She obtained a bachelor of social science from University of KZN in 1996. She is highly organised, dedicated and diplomatic. With a proven ability to improve working environments and a commitment to employee wellfare. She posesses strong interpersonal skills, sensitive to employee concerns, demonstrating the upmost discretion and integrity when dealing with confidential information. She's also proficient in business and employment law.


Hon Devon De Sousa

Currently the head of Legal and HR for Niya Consulting and a Director of DSA Attorneys. He has diverse experience across multiple industries. Worked on a number of exciting projects and initiatives that have expanded his knowledge, functional and behavioral skills set. He is well skilled in Legal and HR with well-rounded business and negotiation skills. He holds multiple qualifications from a Bachelor of Law to Marketing , project management and Business. He has also worked with different stakeholders from NGO's, Business and Government sector. He is a fortunate to have worked across every dimension of HR and is well versed in commercial drafting and Labor law. His passion lies working with communities and wanting to make a change that is not only impactful but sustainable, but more importantly making a real change.


Hon Lindiwe Nyathikazi

She has been involved in various organisations as sports, arts and cultural development expert. She is holding a Bachelor of Paeda. Hon Lindiwe Nyathikazi is an Author / Writer/ Sports, Arts and Cultural Development Programme also helping with Psycho Social problems, ensuring covid-19 regulations are followed.


Hon Marcina Thwala

Currently working with South African Red Cross Society as program manager. Hon Thwala has been involved in various community upliftment projects for the entire KZN. She is holding advanced diploma in community development program from Unisa.

 Bonginkosi Johnny Ntusi

Hon Bonginkosi Johnny Ntusi

Currently working for Africa Care Foundation as Creative Director and he has been involved in community / youth development on a voluntary basis since 1990 with the YMCA. The focus of his work has been at the level of Committee Management of supplementary education initiative project sponsored by the Australian government through the world vision of South Africa and co-ordinated by the YMCA in South Africa. Hon Ntusi was exposed to youth development projects working with non-gevernmental organisations, people from a very different culture, and he travelled extensively throughout South Africa, Zimbabwe, Norway, Netherlands, England, Sri-Lanka and he's holding International Diploma in Peace & Conflicts Resolution, Management Degree in Theology. Hon Ntusi has been awarded with International Peace Awards during his time working in Sri Lanka and ordained in Ministry in April 2014.
